_*Fitness Center Manager *_
_The Fitness Manager works with his or her staff to ensure that New Haven Parks & Recreation delivers a high-quality fitness experience to all members.

*Primary Job Functions:*
• Develop and execute a system of routine maintenance.
• Develop and execute a schedule of daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual maintenance to ensure proper working condition and adherence to warranty requirements.
• Oversee routine equipment maintenance and cleaning and train others to assist.
• Maintain accurate service records.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, well-managed, fitness area, equipment, and recreation room and report/address problems.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of the gym.
• Responsible for assisting with opening and closing of the New Haven Adams Township Parks and Recreation Community Center.
• Prepare weekly staff schedules and work assignments for fitness employees.
• Develop, schedule, and manage fitness classes.
• Ensure that all staff follows center’s procedures and policies.
• Ensure that team members consistently execute the basics in punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness, and cleanliness.
• Maintain a proficient level of software knowledge for customer service and program management, including pulling rosters, managing minimum enrollments, creating monthly membership reports, etc.
• Assist with developing, marketing, and implementing fitness programs.
• Monitor the initial workouts of new customers and provide feedback.
• Demonstrate friendly and proper supervision of attendants, members, and fitness volunteers.
• Is the point of reference for fitness expertise within the facility.
*Secondary Job Functions: *
• Other tasks as assigned.
• Handles new member orientations
• Conducts gym tours to prospective customers.
*Knowledge:*
• Extensive knowledge of customer service management
• Extensive knowledge of computer software used for program management
• Extensive knowledge on Fitness equipment function and proper use
• General knowledge of facility management practices
• General knowledge of Community Center Operations Educational Requirements
• A minimum of 1-3-year experience as a fitness center assistant or manager is preferred.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Equitable combination of education and experience.
• Marketing and program development experience preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification are required.

* Requires frequent standing and walking.
* May require lifting of up to 50lbs.
