Amplify Ag Illinois is a leading agriculture research and development company specializing in Soil Health.
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable General Agronomy Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of our agronomy department, including, sales, crop production, soil fertility, and plant nutrition.
The General Agronomy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize crop yields while promoting sustainable farming practices.
This role will require regular travel to farms and research sites within 150 mile radius of Ft.
Wayne, Indiana.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the agronomy department, including hiring, training, and supervising staff.
Develop and implement agronomic sales strategies and plans to optimize crop production and efficiency.
Monitor and analyze crop performance, soil health, and pest and disease prevalence to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with research and development teams to conduct field trials and evaluate new agricultural technologies and practices.
Provide technical guidance to growers and agronomic advisors on optimal agronomic practices, including soil fertility management, nutrient application, and pest control.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in agronomy, and incorporate new knowledge and technologies into our business practices.
Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records.
Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and meetings.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in agronomy management or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of crop production, soil fertility, pest management, and plant nutrition.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
5+ Year sales track record
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to analyze and interpret agronomic data.
Experience with agricultural research and field trials.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using agronomy software and technology.
Willingness to travel frequently and work in various field conditions.
