Description
Work across Indiana and Michigan to manage the State Auto Middle Market customer relationship by marketing company products, services while working closely with the underwriting team to sell and renew profitable business.
Develop, implement, and manage strategic plan to drive profitable premium growth thru new business success and account retention within the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
Effectively manage assigned agency plant by developing and enhancing working relationships to write and retain business that falls within State Auto's risk appetite.
Partner with regional leadership to develop strategic agency plans that drive targeted sales growth and profitability.
Utilizes sales and marketing skills to effectively drive market penetration and grow new business opportunities.
Work directly with underwriting team to evaluate and manage selection and quoting of in-appetite opportunities.
Respond to customer service issues and inquiries while providing a solution-oriented approach.
Monitor market conditions for changes in competitiveness to adapt execution of strategic plan.
Actively participate in industry association meetings and events.
Effectively coordinate and lead client meetings and presentations.
Drives new business by developing agency opportunities for growth.
Prior underwriting experience strongly preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor`s degree and 3-5 years related P&C sales & underwriting experience or equivalent combination of high school education and experience required
Excellent sales and communication skills required
Strong ability to develop and strengthen customer relationships required
Ability to analyze and understand company appetite for risk selection and profitability required
Demonstrate the ability to work independently required
Ability to travel extensively required
CPCU or similar insurance designations and training preferred
