The Events/Marketing Manager will plan, coordinate, execute and assure financial success of fundraising and community events.
This position involves detailed work.
Work with volunteers, staff, sponsors, vendors, talent, board of directors members, and venues to elevate the event experience to create high quality experiences for participants.
The creation of promotional and marketing plans as well as content and materials is essential to this position as well.
Marketing responsibilities will include collateral materials for events, underwriting sales and other marketing activities as needed.
In addition you will plan and coordinate pre-event promotion and publicity.
Other marketing duties will include managing the marketing use of, and posting to WBOI's social media channels, writing promotional scripts for on-air use, and writing promotional copy for other off channel media as appropriate.
You'll work closely with the President and General Manager, and other department heads depending upon the project.
Essential Functions of the Position: Ensure the event is effectively designed and efficiently managed Manage event accounting functions, deposits, and financial balancing and reporting in coordination with the business manager and CFO.
Ensure successful achievement of ticket sales, revenue and expense goals, and create and manage run-of-show execution plan Manage the invoicing for donors and vendors for events in coordination with the business manager.
Accountable for post-event communications to members and attendees Secure, manage and execute the partnership agreements with event affiliates in coordination with the underwriting director.
Fulfill event sponsor benefits Create graphic design and content for all printed promotional pieces, programs, online ticket pages, website campaigns, and the Givergy platform Collect, manage, and record guest lists, meal preferences, table assignments, and contact information for associated guests Recruit, create job descriptions, and train event volunteers and event support/committees Specific Skills: Time management and ability to meet deadlines Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make decisions impacting the successful execution of both events, and marketing plans.
Specialized Knowledge: Word processing software Spreadsheets Databases Understanding of, and management of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and others.
