About the Role:
The role of Senior Grant Writer will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of grant components through collaboration with internal teams, ensuring the creation of comprehensive narrative drafts, compiling financial information, and obtaining necessary approvals.
The responsibilities will extend to establishing and maintaining relationships with Government Grant Managers, reporting on grant outcomes to funders, and proactively identifying new grant opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of grant components by collaborating with Subject Matter Experts, Engineers and colleagues on the concept and contents, creating narrative drafts, compiling and formatting supplemental and financial information, and obtaining approvals
Create and maintain relationships with Government Grant Managers and Grant Officials.
Report on grant outcomes to funders in close collaboration with program colleagues to ensure sources of funding are secured.
Meet deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
Identify grant opportunities from new and existing funders in collaboration with internal business partners.
Maintain proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs to effectively draft proposals, reports, and to identify alignment with funding opportunities.
Identify opportunities to innovate and improve efficiency, accuracy, and standardization.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Key Qualifications:
HSD, or equivalent education, is required.
Bachelor’s degree in business or political science related fields preferred.
5+ years of relevant professional experience in preparing written proposals for funding with a proven track record of success.
Experience with Federal, State, and Local government and/or utilities industry creating grant applications, proposals, and awards.
Highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple projects and priorities while building rapport across the organization.
Understanding of the government funding community (with an emphasis on issues of Infrastructure and Fiber Networks preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and One Note)
Strong written and verbal skills with an ability to communicate ideas and opinions clearly.
