*General Summary* Indiana Tech seeks qualified candidates for the position of Admissions Counselor.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Admissions and is responsible for the development and implementation of a recruitment plan within an assigned territory for our traditional undergraduate program in Fort Wayne, IN.
The Admissions Counselor works and contributes through a team-oriented approach to the overall planning and operations of the Traditional Admissions Office.
Essential duties include but are not limited to planning and implementing strategic recruitment activities; visiting high schools and attending college fairs within the recruitment territory; meeting with and counseling high school students and their parents on the enrollment process and sharing what Indiana Tech has to offer.
Regular duties include reviewing applications and making admission decisions; participating and assisting with the organization of on-campus recruitment events; marketing and communication development for prospective students.
The candidate selected will also be expected to become knowledgeable about all academic programs and degrees offered by Indiana Tech.
This position is an on-campus position and will include some evenings and weekends.
Recruitment travel is necessary within the assigned territory; therefore, overnight travel will be required throughout the fall and spring months as needed.
*Essential Duties & Responsibilities* * Meet or exceed established enrollment goals for the assigned territory.
* Assist the Admissions team with other responsibilities to ensure the team meets or exceeds established enrollment goals.
* Actively participate in generating ideas for new strategies and effectively execute a recruitment plan for the assigned territory.
* Conduct outreach and/or follow-up to qualified applicants through frequent emails, phone calls, and or texting outreach in a consistent manner.
* Maintain documentation and records of student communication and outreach.
* Build and maintain relationships with prospective students and their parents.
* Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors by visiting high schools and participating in college fairs.
* Meet with prospective students at their high school or on-campus during their campus visit.
* Advise and assist prospective students and parents through the enrollment process, including financial aid and billing process.
* Review and evaluate admissions applications for an admissions decision to be made and confirm that there is accurate data in our Slate CRM and student information system, Jenzabar One.
* Support the vision and policies of Indiana Tech.
* Participate in campus community activities.
* Adhere to all state, and federal accreditation and Institution rules and regulations regarding student recruitment.
*Qualifications* * Earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university is required.
* Ability to travel for extended periods.
* Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to connect with a wide variety of audiences: students, parents, and high school counselors.
* Ability to work independently and make decisions based on general guidelines and policy and procedures.
* Available to work evenings and weekends.

*Working Conditions* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
This position is an on-campus position and will include some evenings and weekends.
