POSITION SUMMARY
Primarily responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Mortgage department and for providing underwriting guidance.
Directly accountable for overseeing the processing, underwriting, and compliance areas.
Assists in planning and coordinating department projects, schedules, and annual budgeting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires an organized, motivated individual with strong communication skills.
Prior management, underwriting, compliance, and mortgage industry experience required.
Must be able to display sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in daily business transactions and activities.
Must possess the appropriate skills for analyzing financial information and making solid credit decisions and recommendations.
Ability to prepare and complete detailed documentation and perform mathematical computation is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Clear and effective communication abilities are required.
Must be able to view a terminal screen and operate a computer keyboard.
Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods.
Must be energetic and able to remain calm under pressure.
Must be able to attend various meetings, training sessions, and seminars.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Backup for Underwriting support/Loan scenario requests
Support underwriting appraisals as needed
Review construction draw documents to approve advances
Pipeline management – ensure that files are meeting target completion dates
Oversee timely file close-out steps for denied, withdrawn, and approved/not accepted requests
Review staff performance to identify focused training needs
Periodically review production flow and improve or update for increased efficiency as needed
Quality Control – Assist with third-party and investor quality control requirements
Research Quality Control defects to determine where processes need improvement
Assist with Secondary Market commitments and pricing scenarios
Provide guidance to servicing and home equity areas of mortgage as needed
Assist in general department planning and coordination (budgeting, projects, new products, marketing, etc.
)
