Conner’s Rooftop is a destination rooftop bar on the 7th floor of the Hampton Inn & Suites in Downtown Fort Wayne.
The bar is situated directly above Parkview Field, the minor league baseball stadium of the Tin Caps - the San Diego Padres’ Single A affiliate.
We’re open year-round (our space is enclosed and heated during the colder months), and we’re looking to add to our team of adaptive, passionate and dedicated servers and bartenders for the year ahead!
Job Summary:
Fundamentally - waiting on guests, either at the bar or tableside, obtain drink and/or food orders, and provide friendly, attentive service as needed per guest.
Bartenders also prepare drinks for the cocktail servers.
We pride ourselves on possessing extensive knowledge of our inventory on hand to help make the best possible recommendations for each individual guest.
Our emphasis is on craft cocktails and spirits, as well as an eclectic mix of regional breweries and fine wines.
Most importantly, the entire staff functions as a team, from setup/prep, to providing positive guest experiences, to cleanup at the end of the night.
Responsibilities:
- Promptly greet guests at bar and tables, offer food menu, inform them of anything not reflected clearly on the menu
- Obtain the order, and politely secure payment to begin a tab
- Enter the order through POS system, communicate anything with bar or kitchen that may require extra clarification, deliver order
- Return to table periodically to make sure all needs are met
- Table maintenance – if it does not need to be on the table (empty cocktail glasses, plates, trash, etc.
), it should be removed (provided the guest does not object)
- Once the guest(s) are finished, confirm permission to charge card obtained
- Wipe down/reset tables as necessary
- If a cocktail server is present, they will attend to tables and bartender will prepare drinks as ordered
- Sense of urgency is paramount – business picks up quickly and suddenly, and finding the balance of being fast, friendly and efficient - without appearing flustered- is one of the most important aspects of the job
- Basic knowledge of food menu items/signature cocktails, including ingredients and preparation
- Basic knowledge of spirits selection, and ability to recommend with confidence
- Basic knowledge of current beer/wine offerings and varying styles
- Empty, clean and refill items as your side work duties describe
- Help your team when they need it, and they will do the same for you
- Maintain a clean uniform and person
- Certified in Serving Alcohol with Care or similar program
- Successfully complete training of required OSHA programs
- Knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
- Be flexible and adaptable to the changes that will occur to your job
- All duties must be carried out in a safe manner

- Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employees issues, etc.
Qualifications:
· Highly organized.
· Must be able to work the majority of the shift in a standing position, constantly moving, and able to lift 30 pounds.
· Strong Guest Service Skills
· Must have attention to detail and be customer service oriented
· Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers
· Must be authorized to work in the US
· Must have means of transportation to and from work
· Must have copy of current Indiana Liquor License
