Histotechnologist/Lab Technician

The Histology technician/lab assistant position is located in Fort Wayne, IN •.
Job duties include but not limited to: Verifying the specimen, identification, and requisition effectively • Preparing microscopic slides on human tissue for diagnostic purposes: duties include grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping of paraffin processed tissue Required Skills • Able to differentiate tissues for appropriate embedding and technique • Experienced in cutting and staining (to include special staining procedures)-Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with ability to maintain records • Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically • Experience with trouble shooting histology equipment problems• Knowledge of CLIA/CAP standards.
Knowledge of OSHA, Safety and Compliance Regulations • Experience • Two (2) years Histology bench experience preferred but not required• Specific training in histology procedures- Preferred Education • HT, HLT, or MLT or possibility of/and eligible for HT(ASCP) certification, and 60 college credits to perform grossing according to CLIA regulations (further education may be eligible for company reimbursement) Job Type: Full-time
