Specimen Collector

Reports to: Collector Supervisor

Job Summary:
You will be responsible for specimen collection including various types of toxicology and urine.
You will act in the best interest of patient care and Gravity Diagnostics while serving as a liaison between our lab and our customers.
This role will also perform a wide variety of administrative/clerical duties.
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collection
Conduct specimen collections competently, following collection procedures and customer requirements and instructions to deliver a quality specimen collection service at customer locations
Adhere to confidentiality expectations and HIPAA requirements
Responsible for monitoring inventory and ensuring supplies are stocked
Update and maintain client contact information and records, as necessary
Keep and maintain most current information training on patient urine collections
Check-in daily and provide weekly updates of account information with office staff including the lab's technologists and/or manager, as directed
Adhere to all State and Federal laws, guidelines and regulations including compliance
Other duties as assigned

Use communication and record-keeping technologies efficiently
Act responsibly and follow professional code of conduct as set forth by the company and senior personnel

Demonstrate high level of reliability, dedication, and initiative
Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced, high volume ever-changing environment
Capability to handle time constraints and effectively manage deadlines
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in urine specimen collection preferred
Experience with record keeping functions preferred
Knowledge pertaining to the administering of the c19 nasopharyngeal test is beneficial
Physical Requirements:
Some safety risks when collecting specimens.
Exposure to Disease or Infections on a daily basis.
Exposure to some adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.
Long periods of sitting and driving required.
Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
