DEPARTMENT: Education JOB TITLE: CLINICAL INNOVATION / RESOURCE COORDINATOR SHIFT: PRN, part time as needed QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing and current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana required.
Master’s in nursing preferred.
2.
Five years of previous nursing education experience preferred.
3.
Minimum of two years’ experience as an RN in adult acute care.
Experience as a clinical instructor preferred.
4.
CPR /BLS provider certification 5.
PALS certification 6.
CPR/BLS Instructor certification within 3 months of hire 7.
PALS Instructor certification within 3 months of hire JOB SUMMARY This position will function as an RN educator that will primarily serve as a liaison for the clinical programs at the Universities.
The position with work with the current Cameron clinical resources to develop and maintain a nurse residency program, student clinicals, and develop innovative ways for nurses to attain skills/competencies.
Will be responsible to recommend improvements in the quality of nursing practice and standards.
Will serve as a resource to staff.
Develop and promote standards to enhance quality of care to clients, families and communities.
Research and utilize evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.
Assist with nursing excellence and clinical quality projects as needed.
Will assist to drive clinical innovation across the organization.
Will assist with reward and recognition and positive culture initiatives.
Provides outreach to university and area schools and assists on organizing clinicals.
JOB FUNCTIONS 1.
Exemplifies exceptional customer service/professional mannerisms.

Demonstrates proficient use of email.
3.
Provides staff education by facilitating needs analysis to ensure that educational needs are identified and are the focal point for program development and enhancements; also ensures that desired outcomes are met.
4.
Plans, designs, implements, and coordinates training, educational programs and/or instructional materials to meet the department's needs.
5.
Designs, prepares, evaluates and updates lesson plans, lectures, tests, materials, programs and courses to meet regulatory agency requirements and changing needs.
6.
Prepares necessary administrative/support materials (such as program schedules, attendance rosters, evaluations and summaries, etc.
).
7.
Serves as an educational resource for various departments, committees, physician groups and referral organizations.
8.
Utilizes the Nursing Process through partnerships with nursing and clinical leaders, and actively participates in the evaluation and plan of care of complex patients by coaching and mentoring clinical staff and collaborating and consulting with physicians and other healthcare providers.
9.
Develops standards, policies, protocols and procedures for clinical areas, educates staff and assists with ensuring compliance.
10.
Participates in nursing’s performance improvement implementation, planning, monitoring and action plan as directed.
11.
Assists with certification of BLS/PALS based on the needs of the organization.
12.
Conducts gap analysis to develop a plan that evaluates clinical learning needs.
Develops simulation nursing opportunities.
13.
Requires thorough and complete understanding of nursing care practices, policies and procedures in order to function independently in area of specialty and utilize advanced health knowledge and skills to serve as a resources person in evaluation of overall standards, programs, etc.
14.
Demonstrates knowledge of current training and adult education philosophies, techniques, programs, tools and equipment.
15.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of and competency in performing procedures, assessments, treatments and techniques.
16.
Demonstrates leadership and team building skills necessary to coordinate activities and motivate all levels of staff.
17.
Demonstrates initiative and high interest in teaching others.
18.
Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills necessary to interact in a professional manner with physicians and other healthcare professionals, patients, families and community members.
19.
Demonstrates well-developed communication skills both verbal and written necessary to communicate in an articulate and effective manner in front of groups.
Relates to and provides effective feedback to the learner in a manner that is patient, constructive and enhances self-esteem.
20.
Demonstrates ability to teach staff with a variety of educational backgrounds.
21.
Adaptable to flexible schedule to include day, evening, weekend and holiday hours as needed.
22.
