*General Purpose:*
This position is responsible for providing safe and enjoyable childcare for members and their children.
Maintain visual and auditory supervision at all times.
The JAM Play Childcare Staff must be responsible for the safety and well-being of each child under their supervision and maintain a creative and playful atmosphere for all participants.

*Primary Functions:*
* Maintains a neat and organized JAM Play area.
* Actively supervises and participates in activities with all children.
* Upholds all JAM Center policies, procedures, standards and code of conduct.
* Treats all children with dignity and respect.
* Communicates all suggestions, incidents and feedback to supervisor.
* Uses appropriate forms of redirection.
* Greets and informs parents and children.
* Respects confidentiality when discussing issues concerning children.
* Cleaning and maintaining of the JAM Center when there are no children in JAM Play.
*Minimum Qualifications*
* JAM Play Childcare Staff are required to be a minimum of 16 years of age.
* Have a positive attitude and follows directions.
* Relates to children, members and other staff in a positive manner.
* Ability to plan and initiate age appropriate games and activities.
* Extraordinary interpersonal communication and the ability to interact well with the public is a must.
* First Aid/AED certified upon hire (JAM will provide training and certification).
* Currently certified in CPR or be certified within 6 months of hire (JAM will provide training and certification).
* Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition training upon hire.
* This position requires a commitment to the JAM Center’s mission and its core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring as well as a commitment to building developmental relationships with all members, participants, and staff.
*Physical Demands:*
* Ability to lift and move boxes and equipment of various weights; climb ladders as needed.
* Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to climb, push, and pull.
* Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds.
*Work Environment:*
To perform this job successfully an employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
